Genevieve and Ben wanted a fall colors outdoor session for their maternity photos in October. We headed up Little Cottonwood Canyon, and there were just so many beautiful trees for us to work with.
Funny story about this session: We had a brief scare that Genevieve was starting to dilate the week before this session. They were worried that we couldn’t get photos in time, so we moved the session up to a sunrise shoot up the canyon. We had plenty of time before Graham’s arrival though because it was 2 more weeks until his birth! The good part of us changing the time was that we had the trail to ourselves for most of the shoot and that same afternoon it rained. Everything worked out perfectly.
I love it when couples bring props to their shoots! They brought a little blue adirondack chair, his converse shoes (and they had matching adult versions), a chalkboard, and my favorite of the bunch: the onesie they were bringing him home from the hospital in. Ben is a programmer, and the onesie said, “Made with Love and Science.” How adorable!! We had a lot of fun with the shoot, and you can definitely see their personalities shine through in the photos.
