During the winter, it’s sometimes hard to find adventurous couples that are willing to go all out and make the most of the snow. Kat and Cal were one of those couples that had no issues getting a little (or a lot) snowy for the sake of some fun photos! They met through their work at CHG Healthcare. Even though they only started dating about 3-4 months ago, you can tell they are a great match for each other and spend a lot of their free time climbing, skiing, mountain biking, hiking, camping, and any other outdoor activities they can find together.
When we arrived at Millcreek Canyon, Cal and Kat both seemed a little nervous and unsure of what to expect. I remember feeling this way when Brighton and I first had our engagement photos done back in May 2015. I assured them that I wanted them to just be themselves, and even though they didn’t realize it, they were excellent at posing even without direction! This is one of my favorite reasons I love being a photographer. I love when couples and families are just natural and let me capture the magic of their emotions!
The session was a lot of fun, including for Brighton (my awesome husband and photo assistant), who got to shake and kick trees to “make it snow” on Kat and Cal! By the end of the shoot, they were having snow fights and kissing in the snow. Even though sometimes snow sessions can be cold and uncomfortable for some, we made the most of it and made photo magic! Can you tell?
