In November, Betsy contacted me in a panic about needing to get her family photos done for her Christmas cards. She wanted something “out of the ordinary” but close to her home in Layton. We decided on Antelope Island because it gives a different feel than most Salt Lake area landscapes— the beach and rocks! She also wanted to make sure that her goldendoodle puppy could be in their family photos as well. I love when people include their furry family members, and can you resist that face?!

Oakley (their little girl) wasn’t thrilled about being out in the chilly November weather, but once we got her jacket and hat on, bribed her with snacks, and turned off the noise of my camera’s shutter going off, she was ready to go! I also found out that she loved looking at the photos of herself. I showed her how to switch between the photos with her tiny fingers on the camera’s touch screen.

After an overcast day throughout the shoot, the clouds finally parted for the beautiful sunset as you can see peeking through in the last photo.
